Bobby Fore is a pragmatic kind of guy. A military veteran, Bobby doesn’t waste time with nonsense and he pays attention to the details. He and his wife Lori have a 200 acre farm in Owingsville, Kentucky and solar power is something they had always thought about, “I just liked the idea of sucking energy off of the sun instead of up out of the ground … I mean, I’m no tree hugger or nothin’, but it just kind of made sense to me.”

While solar was definitely on their radar, they had considered it to be somewhat of a pipedream. It wasn’t until they attended a Solar Holler presentation we had in a nearby town that they realized it wasn’t a pipedream afterall. “We were really impressed by your claim that we wouldn’t pay a penny until it was actually producing power. That was a big sell for us.” 

Bobby considers himself to be pretty handy, but he knows the limits of his skillset and he knew it wasn’t the kind of project he thought he should tackle himself. He reasoned, “You know, I wouldn’t perform a surgical operation on my kid, so I didn’t think it would be a good idea to install my own solar system either. Your company made all the difference for us. It was just so nice to see that it was a turn-key system — all I had to do was stay out of the way and it would be working when you guys left.” 

A self-proclaimed “big picture guy,” Bobby is focused on the long game and he could see the long-term savings and independence that came with making his own power. “I love getting power that I don’t have to pay somebody else for. It’s easier, it’s produced here at my house, I don’t have to truck it in or pay a utility company for it. ”

He loves to talk about his solar system and share photos on social media.
