Our expert team will help you navigate the myriad solar incentives available to businesses today including the federal investment tax credit, renewable energy credits, and accelerated depreciation. Right now most central Appalachian businesses qualify for tax credits covering 50% of a project’s total cost.
Will solar save us money on Day 1?
If you’re looking for immediate, day 1 bill savings with no upfront cost, then a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) might be a good fit. With a PPA, we can save you 10 – 20% out the gate. For businesses looking to own their system outright, there are lots of variables that play into your day one savings.
What are the current grant opportunities?
The USDA REAP Grant (Rural Energy for America Program) is available to many small businesses and farms across central Appalachia. It’s a competitive grant that can cover a significant percentage of the total project costs. Our expert team will guide you through the entire application process. To date, we have a 100% approval rating on REAP grant applications.

OUTRIGHT SYSTEM PURCHASE OR POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT
Whether you choose to purchase your system outright, or opt for a Power Purchase Agreement, you’re getting the same quality panels and inverters installed by the same highly skilled union workers. The systems and the amount of energy they’ll produce are exactly the same —the difference is only in the financing and ownership model.

Outright Purchase
Outright Purchase
YES! YES! YES! Learn more about how the Direct Pay process works here.
We sell net-metered solar systems to any business, church, school, government organization, or nonprofit that’s interested in making the most of their solar investment. Purchasing works best for organizations that can afford to pay for the system outright or who can secure their own financing. We find that small business owners are the most likely customers to choose purchasing over a Power Purchase Agreement.
Purchasing generally delivers the greatest lifetime savings. And there are some incredible tax incentives and grant programs available right now that significantly offset costs – in some cases, nearly the entire cost of the system!
Thanks to the IRA, tax benefits are now transferrable! In other words, you can sell any tax benefits that exceed your own tax appetite. What’s even more? Solar Holler will broker the sale of them on your behalf!
FAQ’s:
Power Purchase Agreement
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
In a Power Purchase Agreement, we install, own, and maintain a solar array on your property then sell the energy back to you at a per kilowatt hour rate— typically 10-20% lower than the rate you currently pay your utility. So you purchase the power produced, but don’t own the actual equipment.
We’ll evaluate any business, church, government organization, school, or nonprofit to see if a PPA makes sense for your goals. It all depends on your situation and current utility rates, but PPAs tend to work well for schools, churches, some small businesses, and organizations that just aren’t ready or able to invest in a system of their own.
There’s no investment or upfront cost at all because you aren’t actually purchasing the solar system itself. You’re simply allowing us to build the system on your property and agreeing to buy the power it produces. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy an immediate savings of 10 – 20%.
Yes. After 6 years, there is an option to purchase the system outright at a fair market value as determined by a third party evaluator.
